Varilux Road Pilot

varilux road pilotThe lenses are optimised for driving and enhancing your distance and intermediate fields of vision. You will benefit from a wider field of view and comfort, allowing clear and sharp vision all day long. They will help you spot areas in your peripheral vision for a safer driving experience while clearly being able to see your dials and dash. We are also able to do these in a Transition lens which are optimised to darken in the car whilst driving.

Transition Lenses

transition lenses essexTransition lenses will instinctively and seamlessly adapt to changing light, adjusting to the perfect tint depending on brightness. This is incredibly convenient for spectacle wearers as it offers an on-the-go solution if you spend a lot of time going from indoors to outside. Wearing these lenses can offer sufficient protection from the sun, which is crucial to maintaining healthy vision. With fast and responsive technology, photochromic lenses protect your eyes from harmful light including UV light and Blue-Violet light. Transitions XTRActive are the first photochromic lenses to activate behind a windshield, meaning they are the perfect lens solution when driving. You are able to combine your corrective lens design with this advanced light intelligent technology, resulting in optimum visual comfort and protection.

The Xperio Polarised Lenses

xperio polarised sun lenses essexWearing polarised lenses is an incredibly helpful solution to combating glare. Polarised lenses have a unique filter that will block out intense glare from reflected light. The filter only allows vertical light through, blocking horizontal light, resulting in optimal visual comfort and protection for your eyes. Our polarised lenses offer the highest level of UV protection within our range(1). UV protection is essential in maintaining healthy vision, and reducing the risk of conditions, like cataracts, which have been linked to overexposure to UV.

Eyezen Single Vision Lenses

crizal eyezenEyezen is a single vision corrective lens design. It delivers sharper vision than ordinary single vision lenses and helps prevent and reduce eyestrain. Eyezen lenses can correct myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism, even if you don’t have a prescription you can still benefit from Eyezen lenses for your daily digital screen usage. Eyezen lenses are specifically designed to meet today’s visual requirements. Thanks to its enhanced design, these single vision lenses can support you when you’re working, socialising or gaming on your phone, computer or games console. Continue to do what you enjoy with sharp, comfortable vision.

Crizal Sapphire UV Coating

crizal sapphireCrizal Sapphire UV ensures your spectacle lenses are resistant and repel scratches, smudges, water droplets and dust particles. Meaning - your lenses are incredibly protected, clear and easy to clean. It has been found that UV can have a cumulative effect on your eyes contributing to premature eye ageing and is associated as a risk factor of cataracts.

Crizal Sapphire UV filters UV rays preventing them from passing through the front of your lens and preventing them from reflecting off of the back of your lens into your eye. Thanks to this unique UV protection enhancement Crizal Sapphire UV has an E-SPF rating of 35, the highest E-SPF index on clear lenses for optimal UV protection. All of our flagship lenses come with this coating as standard.

Varifocal Lenses

essilorVarifocal lenses combine a distance and reading prescription in on lens, but rather than a visible step to the reading area (as with bifocals) there is a smooth transition down the lens. Not only does the varifocal lens look better cosmetically, it also gives a portion of the lens suitable for viewing objects at arms length, such as a computer screen or prices on a shop self; both of which can be awkward to view with a bifocal. It is more important than ever now with the increased use of computers, mobiles and tablets that this 'arms-length' distance is always in focus.

It can take a short time to get used to varifocal lenses but with the right type of lens and the advice from our qualified team there are very few people who cannot adapt to them. With the advances in technology, varifocal lenses are now designed to fit into today's modern frame styles, giving you much more freedom of choice than before.

There are quite a few different types of varifocals to suit all lifestyles. Our qualified team will be able to offer all the advice you require to find the varifocal that is right for you.

Essilor Stellest Lenses – Myopia Control Lenses

Myopia can impact a child’s development. Playing, working, reading, discovering the world .... Did you know that more than 80%(4) of children's learning occurs through vision? Myopia can seriously impact your child's eyesight and life.

More children are getting myopia at a younger age – partly due to a rise in sedentary indoor lifestyles and an increasing amount of time spent in near activities. The younger a child develops myopia, the further it evolves and the higher it becomes. Children developing short-sightedness at a younger age may have an increased risk of developing high myopia and the risk of developing visual impairments in adulthood.

Essilor® Stellest™ lenses slow down myopia progression by 67% on average, compared to single vision lenses, when worn 12 hours a day. In its clinical trial, Essilor showed that after the first year, the eye growth of 9 out of 10 children wearing Stellest™ lenses was similar or slower than non-myopic children.

  • CORRECTS MYOPIA

  • CONTROLS MYOPIA PROGRESSION
